This selection covers only the open-water segment of the PADI or SDI Open Water Diver course. Before you begin, you must complete both the Open Water Diver e-Learning module (sold separately) and the Confined-Water Dives 1–5, including all associated performance requirements.

In this open-water section, you’ll complete four instructor-led dives over two days—putting your skills to the test in real ocean conditions under the guidance of your instructor.

Who Can Take This Course?

  • PADI or SDI Open Water Diver

    (or equivalent from another agency)

  • Minimum age 12

    (12–14 earn a Junior Rescue Diver; upgrade to full Rescue Diver at 15)

  • Current CPR & First Aid certification

    (Emergency First Response or equivalent within the past 24 months)

  • Complete paperwork

    (Continuing Education Administrative Form & Diver Medical Form)

Gear Requirements

  • Personal gear: Students must bring their own dive mask and dive booties—these items are highly personal for fit and comfort.

  • Provided gear: All other equipment is included (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, fins, tanks, weights).
